Welcome to the official home of Stitch In London cross stitch retreat.

Stitch In London is a long weekend event where like-minded cross stitchers meet, stitch, chat and have fun together - and have an opportunity to buy lovely cross stitching supplies from some amazing UK small businesses.

Stitchers of all stitching abilities, styles, ages and backgrounds are welcome ❤️

WEEKEND 1 details:

When: 4 October 2024 12:00 (noon) - 6 October 2024 5:00pm

Stitching room opening hours:

  • Friday 4th October 2024: 12:00 (noon) - 11 pm
  • Saturday 5th October 2024: 8 am - 11 pm
  • Sunday 6th October 2024: 8 am - 5 pm

 

WEEKEND 2 details:

When: 11 October 2024 12:00 (noon) - 13 October 2024 5:00pm

Stitching room opening hours:

  • Friday 11th October 2024: 12:00 (noon) - 11 pm
  • Saturday 12th October 2024: 8 am - 11 pm
  • Sunday 13th October 2024: 8 am - 5 pm

 

Where: Holiday Inn London - Watford Junction, 65-67 Clarendon Rd, Watford WD17 1DS (20 mins by train from Euston station)

important - please note that this is *NOT* the Holiday Inn Express hotel at Watford Junction station, these are 2 separate premises

Event capacity: 56 stitchers (8 stitching tables) + organisers and vendors

 

How to attend: sign up opens on Saturday 30th March at 7 pm GMT (London time) via this link - please read all details below carefully before signing up

Please note that the sign-up link leads to a Google form that will only be switched on at 7 pm GMT on 30/03/2024.

 

When you sign up, please ensure that you can receive e-mails from stitchesanddiamonds@outlook.com by adding it to your e-mail contact list.

 

We reserve the right to cancel your registration as a result of not being able to reach you because our e-mail ended up in your Spam/Junk/Quarantine folder, e.g. if there is an issue with payment and we cannot reach you on the e-mail address you have provided during registration. Please note that e-mail is our primary form of communication - all important updates are communicated via e-mail.

 

What is included in the ticket price:

  • access to the stitching room and vendors on-site
  • unlimited tea, coffee and water
  • daily 10:30 am and 3 pm pastry break (croissants, pain au chocolate, muffins, fruit, etc)
  • Saturday lunch
  • a small welcome retreat pack with Stitch in London keepsakes
  • a raffle with many high-quality stitching related prizes + a fun game (in the past included quiz and a game of bingo)
  • optional smalls exchange
  • private Facebook group for attendees

Ticket price does not include:

  • transport to and from the retreat
  • accommodation
  • parking
  • food and beverages except for those mentioned above - there will be an option of add-on lunch & dinner booking for those interested. We will share more details closer to the time!

 

To keep the ticket price as low as possible despite increasing meeting room rental and food prices, we have decided not to offer a comprehensive cross stitch kit as part of the retreat welcome. We will all be able to enjoy a lovely Saturday buffet lunch instead!

We will reveal a few retreat exclusive designs in June 2024 to all attendees - you will be able to purchase the kits/designs as an optional add-on to the retreat ticket. None of the designs will be mystery - full design reveal & fabric choice will be available so you can decide whether that's something that takes your stitchy fancy!

 

Ticket price total: £139.00 including £20.00 registration deposit payable upon registration

£20.00 registration deposit - you will receive a PayPal invoice within 48hrs of registering via the registration list to confirm your spot. It will be payable within 7 days. If the invoice hasn't been paid, it will be cancelled without further notice and your spot will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

This deposit is to secure your spot at the retreat, balance to be paid at a later date as follows:

£119.00 retreat ticket - payable as a one-time fee or in instalments

    • One-time fee payment - payable via PayPal invoice by 20th April 2023 (you will receive a PayPal invoice via email)
    • Paying in instalments - payable in 4 payments of £31.50 (payable by 20th of April, May, June and July 2024). You will receive individual PayPal invoices via email.

 

Please note that if the invoice hasn't been paid and you haven't reached out via email to discuss options, you will be removed from the registration list and your spot will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Accommodation:

The Holiday Inn - Watford Junction has offered a rate of £120.00 per night for bed and breakfast excluding parking (currently available at £8.00 per day)

This rate is valid for check-in Friday 4th / 11th October from 2pm, check-out Sunday 6th / 13th October by 11am; Thursday and Sunday nights available as add-ons for the same rate (you can indicate this on the registration form).

We have a limited number of rooms available at this rate to be booked as an add-on to the retreat ticket:

  • one-time payment of 2/3/4 x £120.00 by 20 June 2024
  • instalments: 
    • 2 nights: 4 instalments of £62.00 payable on 20th of May, June, July and August 2024
    • 3 nights: 4 instalments of £92.00 payable on 20th of May, June, July and August 2024
    • 4 nights: 5 instalments of £98.00 payable on 20th of April, May, June, July and August 2024

If you are interested in booking the hotel room, you will be able to indicate this on the registration list including the add-on nights on Thursday and Sunday. The payments will be made via PayPal invoice sent alongside the retreat ticket invoice, cancellation/refund policy applies (please see below).

 

 

Cancellation/refund policy (this applies to both retreat ticket and hotel room booking):

Our cancellation policy dates reflect hard costs incurred to us by both the cancellation policy given by the hotel.

Cancellation on or before 20th August 2024 - you will receive 100% refund of the ticket price. If you have paid the ticket price as a one-time fee, the registration deposit will also be refunded in full. If you have chosen to pay in instalments, the registration deposit will not be refunded due to increased administrative requirements & PayPal costs to process the instalment invoices.

Cancellation between 21st August 2024 and 1st October 2024 - if we can backfill the event by an attendee from the waiting list, you will receive a 100% refund of the ticket price. If you have paid the ticket price as a one-time fee, the registration deposit will also be refunded in full. If you have chosen to pay in instalments, the registration deposit will not be refunded due to increased administrative requirements & PayPal costs to process the instalment invoices.

Please note that when you cancel your retreat and/or accommodation booking, you are responsible for cancelling any private arrangements you have made, e.g. transport, accommodation etc.

 

COVID-19 cancellation policy:

This policy mirrors the hotel policy entirely - if there are any new travel restrictions or localised lockdowns past the cancellation deadline as outlined above, where the retreat cannot take place, the hotel agrees to move the booking to a future date subject to availability.

If this highly unlikely event was to occur past the cancellation deadline dates outlined above, we will work with the hotel and you to find a suitable replacement date. Please note that this would only apply if a government decision was made to restrict travel and/or meetings in group settings.
